The “no wars” President just started a war.
And by doing so, violated the Constitution and his promise to his cultists.
Why did this happen?
Before starting this war, he claimed Venezuela was exporting fentanyl to American and began bombing motor boats. Not only was Venezuela NOT exporting to the US, but innocent civilians were being murdered. Why? It’s a distraction.
All this was for one, simple problem facing Trump: the Epstein files. With some 5 million newly reported files, Trump knew there was nothing he could do to stop the release. So, he decided to create more confusion. Only this time on a much larger scale. Invaded a foreign country. He creates an international problem, just so, he hopes, we’ll forget the Epstein files. Hard to forget the ignoring of laws and datelines. Hard to forget Trump is in the Epstein files. Sorry, Donny, we won’t forget.
No exit plan? Again?
So, now we’ve invaded a foreign country, again, for their oil. This seems familiar. Oh, yes Iraq. Except we had no exit plan. Surely, we have one for Venezuela. Well, no. Trump says “we’re going to run the country…”. The danger this stupid statement creates is large. Remember how Iraq turned in to a forever war and how many America (and other countries) lives were lost “running” Iraq? You don’t think this will be worse? Just watch.
The real reason.
Trump also said we’re going to take back “our” oil. How can oil reserves in another sovereign country be “ours”? And why do we need their oil when are producing more that we can use? The answer is the type of oil. Venezuela has “heavy crude oil”; that’s the thick, heavy oil that are the kind of oil US refineries are built to handle. We have more heavy refineries than light (the kind we’re getting from fracking) refineries. So, US oil companies are going to spend “billions of dollars” to “upgrade” the refineries in Venezuela. Instead, why not build another heavy oil refinery in the US and import oil from Venezuela? A win-win situation for both countries.
In case you haven’t notice, gas prices have been coming down. That means a barrel of gas costs less. Is it any wonder why the oil companies turn down Trump on his scheme? There’s no profit in spending billions of dollars in Venezuela to upgrade their productions capabilities. Even more lies from the world’s most famous liar, Donald Trump.
Legal?
According to Trump flunky, Bill Bar, a president does not have to go to Congress if you call and invasion of a foreign country a “law enforcement action”. Really? So, military aircraft dropping bombs on civilians, kidnapping the president of a foreign country (and his wife), killing 90 Venezuelans and the claiming the US is going to “run” the country is not a military action? Hogwash. It’s exactly that.
Repercussions.
What, now, is going to stop China from doing the exact same thing to Taiwan? Isn’t this exactly what Russia is doing in Ukraine? And what’s going to stop North Korea from moving south? We no longer have any right to stop or chastise any country for doing anything like this.
And were are the Republicans? The same place they always have been, cowering behind Trump.
