Steps to becoming a dictator:
1. Get elected.
2. Create a cult with the disenfranchised, i.e., MAGA. Easy to do with a liar like Trump.
3. Call all news organizations (outside the MAGA mouthpiece, Fox) fake news. Repeat.
4. Replace federal judges with ones sympathetic to your views. Thanks to Mitch McConnell for stacking the Supreme Court.
5. Stack your staff with suckaphants (sic).
6. Defy the law and violate the Constitution to “normalize” your behavior.
Trump is doing or has done, all these things.
Donald Trump said he wanted to be a dictator “But only for day one.” Never in history has a dictator ever served only one day by choice and it is now apparent the Trump is no exception.
The First Amendment to the Constitution protects our right to free speech and freedom of the press. Trump and his flunkies are now attempting to stifle free speech by coercion, including threatening major television organizations, like ABC and CBS. For example, ABC today put comedian Jimmy Kimmel on “indefinite” pulled off the air. And when a reporter asked a question Trump didn’t like, he said: “Bondi will probably go after people like you. You treat me unfairly, you have hate in your heart. ABC paid me $16 million for a form of hate speech…maybe they’ll go after you.” This is government censorship.
When his dining at a restaurant was disturbed by protestor, Trump said:
“They started to scream when I got into a restaurant. I said I’m doing a great job for peace in the Middle East, I should get lots of awards with that. She was a paid agitator. I’ve asked Pam to look into that in terms of bringing RICO cases because they should be put in jail. What they are doing to this country is really subversive.”And, now, their coming after those who protest – a right guaranteed under the First Amendment.
The implications are obvious: say something Trump doesn’t like, they’ll come after you.
My only question is:
