Mental Derangement: Historically refers to disorders affecting cognitive functioning, such as delirium or other forms of insanity.
The Trump misinformation machine produced the “Trump Derangement Syndrome” to disparage anyone who disagrees with Trump or challenges him in any way. I think they misspelled it. It should be spelled: “Trump’s derangement syndrome”. By adding the apostrophe “s” to Trump, we shift the attention from those who are only showing contempt to Trump to the origin of the chaos.
There are multiple examples of Trump’s derangement, let’s start with the COVID pandemic.
COVID-19
Some 400,000 Americans died from COVID under Trump’s regime. One must wonder how many could have been saved if it weren’t for Trump’s deranged suggestions. Here are three things Trump did wrong, costing American lives:
1. Trump consistently downplayed the severity of COVID-19 in its initial stages. He publicly claimed it would “disappear” and compared it to the flu, which led to a perception among some Americans that the virus was not as serious, potentially increasing the spread due to a lack of caution.
2. Trump often touted unproven treatments for COVID-19, such as hydroxychloroquine. His promotion of these drugs, despite lacking substantial scientific backing, led to confusion about effective treatments and potentially resulted in harmful consequences for individuals seeking these alternatives.
3. Trump frequently expressed skepticism towards public health guidelines, such as mask-wearing and social distancing. He often encouraged large gatherings and politicized mask use, which undermined efforts by health officials to promote preventative measures, contributing to higher transmission rates.
These actions and their implications had a widespread impact on public perception of the virus and adherence to necessary health guidelines and lead to the death of many Americans. I personally know a family that used ivermectin (a medicine for animals other that humans. One family member survived, the other got long COVID and still suffers from the effects.
2020 Election

“In a podcast interview with Russian-American computer scientist Lex Fridman that aired Tuesday, Trump acknowledged that he lost the presidential election ‘by a whisker.’ The surprising remarks follow a similar comment by Trump at a Moms for Liberty conference, saying Biden ‘beat us by a whisker’—before baselessly claiming that Democrats ‘used Covid to cheat.’ At a press conference at the southern border last month, Trump said that he came up ‘just a little bit short’ in the last election.
“Of course, the race was not as close as Trump would like to believe: Biden won 306 electoral votes to Trump’s 232, and Biden won more than 7 million more votes than Trump in the popular vote. Still, this is progress compared to Trump’s years of election denialism, which, of course, helped fuel the 2021 insurrection at the Capitol.”
Tariffs of 2025
After deciding that other countries were “ripping us off”, Trump initiated tariffs on every trading partner we have. He claimed that the shipping countries would pay the tariffs and it would bring in “trillions” dollars to the US. Both were lies (no surprise there). First, exporting countries like China, were not going to pay any tariffs because that’s not the way tariffs work. Tariffs are paid by the importing country; in this case us, the good old USA. Those tariffs (a tax) are then past along to the consumers – you and me. We pay the taxes. If you are wondering why Walmart prices went up, well that’s the end result of tariffs. Walmart sure isn’t going to pay the tariffs, they just pass the price increases along to you. So far, the government has collected $216.7 billion (not trillion) in tariffs – from YOU!
Drug prices will drop 1000%
This is a lie that is provably false and it simple mathematics.
Say a drug costs $100.
– A 50% cut makes it $50.
– A 100% cut makes it $0.
– A 300% cut means the company pays you $200 to take the drug.
– A 3,000% cut means they owe you $2,900 every time you fill the prescription.
Anything over 100% would me the drug companies would have to pay you to buy their drugs.
Trump keeps repeating this claims even though he KNOWS it’s bullshit. It’s no wonder he bankrupted 8 businesses – including a casino!
Alienating our allies
In case you haven’t heard, tourism is down in the US. Las Vegas is suffering one of the worst years in it’s history. Snowbirds from Canada aren’t coming anymore. European travel to the US is also down. Why? Because of Trump.
Trump, even as I’m writing this, is talking about taking over Greenland, claiming we need it for “national security”. Problem is we have no rights to it or Canada or Panama or Valenzuela or any other country. They are sovereign nations. Also, they are not for sale. But that’s not stopping Trump from spouting his insane ideas.
But, it HAS stopped tourism from Canada – and, because of tariffs, sales of American goods to Canada. A double whammy for tourism and American producers.
What it has done is turn many of our allies against us. Europe no longer trusts the US. Britain has stopped providing intelligence about drug smuggling from Valenzuela because of serious and legitimate concerns about the legality of blowing up boats without any knowledge of who is on those boats.
Trump’s demented action are having detrimental consequences for our country and for the American people. These are not the actions of a “stable genius”, but of a deranged narcissists. And he has the backing of the cowards in the House and Senate. We have lost our standing amongst the nations of the world. Except for Russia, China, and North Korea. That alone show give you a big clue as the path Trump has chosen.
